ABSTRACT

This study aims to establish the relationship between instrumental digital competencies and virtual education in times of covid-19. Its approach is quantitative, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional. The population consisted of 5940 students from 7 faculties of a public university in Lima and Valle, distributed in 53 study programs of the 2021-I academic cycle. A representative probability sample of 360 was established. It was found that there is a significant relationship between instrumental digital competencies and virtual education in times of covid-19. (With a p < 0.05) finding a Spearman's Rho correlation = 0.778 considerable positive correlation. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors. ABSTRACT

COVID-19 has caused global changes in the way of teaching and learning. The new forms of teaching how to write papers to Engineering students that began in 2020 may become a new pedagogical alternative. The literature had already shown the advantages of using technology for teaching, highlighting the possibilities of collaboration, and to give students a leading role in the development of their learning process. The article shows the experience of teaching writing conference papers to Engineering students under a virtual environment. The study was experimental with 54 students in two groups: Control Group and Experimental Group. The students were evaluated through an instrument that considered three dimensions: planning, writing and reviewing. Results demonstrated that it is possible to develop technical writing skills in Engineering students in a virtual environment. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The confinement caused by the Covid-19 pandemic forced the implementation of synchronous virtual teaching situations, thus the need for a method to teach how to use software arises. In this article, a method is proposed, considering the learning styles of the students, how to carry out this process in a structured way, and considering the different moments of a class session. The way in which instruction should be approached based on learning styles is detailed. Twelve sections and three hundred and three students participated;in eighteen courses that instruct in the use of software. The results show that when applying the method in four levels of studies, the educational objectives were achieved, and that 80% of the students of each learning style achieve a level of achievement equal to or greater than “good” while less than 3% they performed poorly. © 2022, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao. ABSTRACT

The context of the COVID 19 pandemic has accelerated the processes of innovation in education, radically modifying the pedagogical practice of teachers and the learning processes of students, in addition to the precariousness of the equipment that in many cases has been shown to hinder the normal development of the educational process. In this edition of CITIE, the variety of educational contexts explains the importance of contextualization in educational innovation processes. © 2020 for this paper by its authors.

ABSTRACT

Under the context of the Pandemic COVID-19, there have been extreme situations in health that need to be transferred to the processes of medical education. Objectives: To include real cases presented in the pandemic for their analysis as a strategy to update the teaching and learning of bioethics and scientific integrity in medicine. Methods: 150 Peruvian medical students analyzed emblematic historical cases of bioethics and cases related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Interest in analyzing the cases, academic performance, and quality of ethical analysis were compared. Results: Students showed better performance, interest, and quality of analysis, with a significant difference (p < 0.001) in the evaluation of COVID-19 cases. Conclusions: Analysis of pandemic-related cases improved critical ethical analysis skills in medical students. The pandemic has provided an opportunity to update bioethics and scientific integrity content in virtual environments. © 2020 Copyright for this paper by its authors

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic, at a global level, has brought serious consequences to people's health, but it has also meant a challenge for the development of teaching activities under the context of social isolation;it is necessary to know how this adaptation has been from the students' perception, in order to facilitate decision making and the management of improvements in the teaching process in virtual platforms. Objective: To identify the perception of university students regarding virtual platforms. Methods: In an exploratory-descriptive study, a Google Forms questionnaire was applied to 395 students of a Peruvian university on the perception of education on virtual platforms. Results: The questionnaire showed 57% positive student satisfaction with the virtual service. Conclusion: Students perceive as positive the adaptations of education in times of pandemic COVID -19. © 2020 Copyright for this paper by its authors
